...instead he saw other faces, many, a long sequence, a flowing river of faces, of hundreds, of thousands, which all came and disappeared, and yet all seemed to be there simultaneously, which all constantly changed and renewed themselves...”

WAKING UP : DEBUT SINGLE RELEASE PREMIERE -

WAKING UP by HUNDREDS THOUSANDS (ft. RJO II)

BROOKLYN, July 20, 2018 - A song of contradiction and instinct, WAKING UP takes place between the blue ridge mountains of eastern Tennessee and the dark, smoky warehouses of Brooklyn. It’s about being faced with internal dualities that both cripple and awaken, but advancing nonetheless. Britt’s lush but airy vocal harmonies counter crunchy synths, creating a mountainous soundscape to explore. Although the two have been working together in the studio since 2016, this will be both Britt and O’leary’s first official release.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Hundreds Thousands is the solo project of Zach Britt. Growing up in the Piedmont and mountain regions of North Carolina, Britt’s musical background stems from the rich textures of folk music and bluegrass, which has since been heavily influenced by the broad landscape of electronic music... Exploring the lines between pop & electronic, analog and digital, H|T combines a folk music/singer-songwriter upbringing with crunchy bass synths and drum machine/sample based percussion.

RJO II (Rob O’Leary) is a Brooklyn based Producer / Dj, active in the NYC music scene - DJing venues such as House of Yes and Honey’s, helping build the Brooklyn Overground event series, and engineering for A-list artists at The Cutting Room Studios. His unique background in audio engineering, music production, and DJing helps him deliver inspired and exploratory musical experiences by creating nostalgic environments in unfamiliar spaces.
